Get Paid to Speak Up for Safer Streets
We pay young people around the Bay Area to post about the roads they walk, bike and catch the bus on every day. What you say and how you say it is up to you.
Become an AmbassadorHow It Works
01
You Make the Post
Video, photos, a carousel, whatever you are good at. You are the creator, so there is no script to follow and nobody signs off on it before it goes up.
02
You Post It
It goes on your own account, wherever you already post. You do not need a big following, because the people who matter most here are the ones who live near the road you are talking about.
03
We Pay You
Send us the link and the view count, and we pay you $75 for the post. When one of your posts reaches a lot of people, there is a bonus on top of that.
What You Would Post About
We are asking for posts over several months, at whatever pace fits around school and work, and we pay for up to four a month. At least two of them should be about Hesperian Boulevard, each one at a different spot where the road goes wrong for people on foot or on a bike.
Everything else can be about safer streets anywhere in your world, like the crosswalk nobody stops for or the bike lane that ends without warning. You know those places better than we do, which is the whole reason we are asking you.
Because The Bay Ride is a nonprofit, paid posts stay on the streets themselves and leave endorsing candidates and ballot measures to other people.
Sign Up to Be an Ambassador
Most of our ambassadors are teenagers and people in their early twenties who live around the Bay and care about how their streets work. Tell us a little about yourself and we will be in touch. If you are under 18 you are welcome here, and we will bring a parent or guardian into the conversation before your first post.
